Wednesday, September 30, 2015

O2 Capital Partners B.V. has acquired Dutch carpet manufacturer Edel International and all its subsidiaries. With the help of O2 Capital Partners, Edel will be able to grow further, in line with the company’s ambitions and future plans.

On Tuesday September 29, the acquisition was officially ratified. With the signing of the documents, the De Lange family officially relinquished ownership of the firm after almost 100 years. The takeover ensures a capital injection for Edel with which plans for the future can be realized. For O2 Capital Partners, this step is in line with their strategy which focuses on, amongst others, the production industry in the Netherlands.

The takeover has no negative consequences for employment and encompasses all business units of Edel International, trading under the Edel Group and Edel Telenzo brands.

Founded in 1918 by Mr K. de Lange in Genemuiden (NL), Edel has a longstanding history. Over this period, the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Mr de Lange have built the company up, to become a financially sound and flourishing carpet producing company with a focus on mid and high end markets.

The takeover by O2 Capital Partners is a result of the changing economic climate and the company’s ambitions. Robbert Wapstra, Managing Director Edel International: “The current shareholders see a bright future for Edel International with O2 Capital Partners. To be able to grow, to realize our ambitions, this step was desired and as a company we are therefore very content with the acquisition. We will profit from their expertise and extensive network and are looking forward to a positive future, for our personnel, customers, suppliers and other partners.”
